Dear Club Representatives

Thank you for being the YSLGA representative for your Club. I know you will encourage your members to look at the opportunities available in the new season and enter as many as possible. We are aware that some members experience frustration when their entries are unsuccessful but we would ask you to manage Club submissions by prioritising the entry list you send to the Competition Secretary. 

Briefly, the role of the club representative is:

· To liaise with your club's YSLGA members and the YSLGA committee in case of queries and problems and to pass on information from the YSLGA to our members

· To collect annual membership fees and pay by 31st December prior to the playing year. Please note that new members with a handicap index of 35.0 or less can now join as soon as they reach the age of 50 during the playing year if they wish to play in competitions (see below)

· Make your Club members over 50 aware of the benefits of joining the YSLGA

· Check your list of members for playing and non-playing so YSLGA can pay to the Northern Veterans Association, the annual per capita fee for playing members

· Prioritise the list of your members on the entry sheets and send to the Competition Secretary by the deadline date printed on the posters which is now  FRIDAY 16 FEBRUARY 2024 for ALL competitions.

· Distribute and inform your members as soon the start sheets are available, so dates can be put in diaries and payments made to your club. A reserve list is kept of the entries that were balloted out of competitions and the competition secretary will make contact with the club rep as and when cancellations are made.

Usually after the AGM in October, you will be sent a list of your members for updating and returning to me, with your payment. Many clubs still have some LIFE members & no subscriptions are payable for them. However, we are keen that this list is kept current so any lady who has not played in YSLGA competitions in the last 5 years should now have NP against their name. If circumstances change, they can easily be re-instated. Please also delete or amend the list as necessary so that it is up to date.

Subscriptions for Annual members for 2024 is £8 per year. All subscriptions & new member applications must be received by 1st January prior to the playing year. Any additional annual memberships for new members reaching 50 years of age & attaining 35.0 handicap or less after January 1st must be paid prior to playing in any YSLGA match or competition & before 30th September.

Payments can be made by electronic transfer (contact me for bank details).

The year starts with the Spring Meeting and is a great taster for the season. The diary for the year is available at your club or you can download it from the website (Look on the Competition Dates Page).
